3 Actionable Steps to Maximize Your Time in Your Business

Are you one of those business owners who says "I wish I had more time in the day"?

I get it! We want to have more time to do all the things in our business, while also having time for family, loved ones, or our favorite hobbies.

A study by Zippa shows that 82% of people don’t have a proper time management system in place. That means they are wasting their time on tasks that are low value and not on the areas of their business that actually matter.

But I'm here to say....  You don't need more time in the day to get your business shit done.

If you are ready to get off the struggle bus and claim your time back, let's look at 3 actionable steps that can help you RIGHT NOW.

The first thing is to audit the time you spend in your business. This means tracking how much time you spend on each task.  Once you know this, you can now work towards a sustainable schedule!

After you audit your time, here are some ways to get the ball rolling with better time management.

Daily Priorities

Whether you do this the night before or the day off, make a list of the top 3 tasks you need to get done for the day. Completing these tasks with not only maximize your time, but help you feel more productive.  You also can avoid burnout this way!

Are you asking, "What should I do if I complete everything?"  Then add 1 extra task at a time, or just stop for the day!

Get a Reminder App

Reminders are ESSENTIAL in managing your time. If you are like me, I get lost in a task and before I know it, it's time to go pick up the kids at school! Can you just feel the stress by reading that sentence??

I love reminder apps. If you really need that accountability partner, this is for you. I personally use the Structure App to plan and manage my time. It even alerts me when I should be moving onto the next task.

Crazy how this is another way to avoid burnout!

Schedule Everything

Scheduling will help you know what is coming up in the day. But you must choose a way that will work for YOU. That can be a physical calendar, a planner, your smartphone's calendar, Google calendar, or even the Structure App.

Scheduling your day, both business and personal tasks, can help you greatly avoid burnout and stress.

PRO TIP: Give yourself some positive reenforcement! Studies show that positive reenforcement helps build habits that are better for us. So, whatever that positive reenforcement may be, treat yo'self!
